INVITATION TO WORKSHOP “REVITALIZING VIETNAM: ENHANCE SUSTAINABLE TOURISM”

Topic 1: Best practices in child protection in travel and tourism

Dear Friend,

We are Sustainations – a Sustainable Development Alliance that connects and gathers all NGOs and businesses interested in sustainable tourism to jointly implement campaigns/events for the community. It is our honor to send you and your company an invitation to attend our workshop for tour operators, hotels, and other members of the Vietnamese tourism and hospitality sector:

REVITALIZING VIETNAM: ENHANCE SUSTAINABLE TOURISM

Best practices in child protection in travel and tourism

  1. About the workshop:

“REVITALIZING VIETNAM: ENHANCE SUSTAINABLE TOURISM” is the first step in the series of Sustainations’ actions for sustainable tourism. A key factor of Vietnam’s tourism recovery is to focus on sustainable tourism strategies that drive growth while protecting and appreciating what makes Vietnam a unique travel destination: People, environment, and culture.

The Vietnam Business Forum’s (VBF) Tourism Working Group’s 5-year Master Plan for Sustainable Tourism recommends that tourism and hospitality companies create a child protection program to sensitize hotel employees on the sexual exploitation of children from travel and tourism.

Join us for this special workshop for Vietnamese-speaking tourism and hospitality employees and managers on The Code program, a positive, preventive, and easy way for companies to safeguard both children and the tourism industry and help improve sustainability practices.

The workshop will include special talks from:

  • Mr. Hai Ho, Vice-Chairman of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA)
  • Mr. Jimmy Pham, Founder of KOTO
  • We will also take participants through special exercises so that they can assess their company’s current level of child protection policies and how to improve them.
