With the enforcement of the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (in German: Lieferkettensorgfaltspflichtengesetz, or LkSG) on January 1st, 2023, a significant step has been taken towards ensuring corporate responsibility in upholding human rights and environmental protection within supply chains. For the first time, this act mandates that concerned companies must diligently observe human rights and environmental due diligence obligations throughout their global supply chains.
