[Recap] GBA Workshop & Networking Opportunity in Hai Phong

The German Business Association (GBA), in cooperation with the Korean Chamber of Commerce in Hai Phong (KOCHAM Haiphong), successfully organized the GBA M4M Workshop on the topic “Latest Developments in Trade Zones and Industrial Investment in Hai Phong”, bringing together 80 members of the German, Korean, and international business communities, industry representatives, and key stakeholders in Northern Vietnam’s industrial ecosystem.

The workshop was officially opened by Mr. Alexander Ziehe, Chairman of GBA, and Ms. Trang Tiffany Pham, GBA Haiphong Representative, who welcomed participants and highlighted the increasing strategic importance of Hai Phong as one of Vietnam’s most dynamic industrial and logistics hubs. They emphasized the workshop’s role in facilitating dialogue, knowledge exchange, and business connections among international investors and stakeholders in the region.

The event was honored by the presence of distinguished guests and speakers, including members of the GBA Board, Ms. Dung Nguyen of Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority (HEZA), Mr. Seog Myeong Gug, Chairman of KOCHAM Haiphong, Mr. Ko Tae Yeon, Chairman of KOCHAM, and Mr. Hieu Le, Senior Director and Head of Leasing Services at CBRE Vietnam.

The workshop commenced with a speech by Mr. Seog Myeong Gug, who shared the Korean investment perspective in Hai Phong, highlighting the experiences, priorities, and long-term confidence of Korean enterprises operating in the city. His speech offered practical insights into investment conditions, industrial competitiveness, and the factors that continue to attract Korean manufacturers and supporting industries to Hai Phong.

This was followed by a session led by Mr. Hieu Le of CBRE Vietnam, who delivered a comprehensive outlook on industrial development and infrastructure trends in Hai Phong and Northern Vietnam. His session addressed industrial land supply and demand, manufacturing expansion trends, logistics connectivity, infrastructure improvements, and the broader outlook for foreign investors seeking opportunities in the region’s rapidly evolving industrial market.

In the final presenation, Ms. Dung Nguyen of HEZA provided participants with important updates on trade zones and investment developments in Hai Phong. The presentation covered key policy developments, industrial and economic zone updates, investment facilitation efforts, and the city’s strategic direction in strengthening its position as a leading destination for foreign direct investment.

The workshop concluded with an interactive Q&A session, allowing participants to engage directly with speakers on investment trends, infrastructure readiness, industrial development, and future opportunities in Hai Phong. The discussion reflected strong interest from the business community in understanding both the opportunities and challenges shaping the region’s industrial growth.

Overall, the workshop provided valuable and timely insights into Hai Phong’s industrial and investment landscape, reinforcing GBA’s commitment to supporting informed business engagement and fostering stronger cooperation between the German, Korean, and wider international business communities in Northern Vietnam.
