On Thursday, 10 July 2025, the German Business Association (GBA) had the pleasure of co-hosting with Bundesliga International a dynamic Members for Members Workshop at Deutsches Haus Ho Chi Minh City, welcoming close to 40 participants.
Under the timely theme “Bundesliga in Vietnam: Connecting Cultures & Creating Opportunities,” the workshop shone a spotlight on how Germany’s top professional football league is building real impact in Vietnam, from high-impact partnerships and youth engagement to fostering cultural exchange through the universal language of sport. The event brought together speakers and panelists who offered valuable perspectives on the Bundesliga’s journey in Vietnam:
- Mr. Kevin Sim, Head of APAC of Bundesliga International
- Mr. Hang Vu Minh, Head of Content Development of TV360
- Ms. Mai Nguyen Tuyet, Deputy CEO of Viettel Media
- Mr. Nguyen Minh Chau, Deputy General Secretary of Vietnam Football Federation (VFF)
- Mr. Tizian Ibach, Business Development & Marketing Manager of Bundesliga International
Together, they explored how the Bundesliga is expanding its strategic presence in Vietnam by forming meaningful local collaborations with trusted partners like Viettel and the VFF, and how these partnerships help bring world-class football experiences closer to Vietnamese fans. The discussion also highlighted the Bundesliga’s commitment to engaging Vietnam’s next generation through Gen Z-focused initiatives and innovative content strategies, inspiring young football fans and creating lasting connections beyond the pitch.
Football as a Cultural Bridge
One of the workshop’s key takeaways was the reminder that sport, and football in particular, is much more than entertainment — it is a powerful bridge for cultural and business ties. By connecting people and communities, the Bundesliga continues to strengthen the bond between Germany and Vietnam, creating new opportunities for cooperation across industries.
A Special Highlight: The Meisterschale
A standout moment of the day was the rare chance to see the iconic Meisterschale – the official Bundesliga Trophy – up close. For many attendees, it was a once-in-a-lifetime photo opportunity and a symbol of the league’s rich legacy of sporting excellence.
