Following our Annual General Meeting, the newly elected Board Members has shaped the strategic direction and defined the key priorities for the German Business Association (GBA) in 2026. At the Board offsite meeting held in Da Nang on 28 February 2026, the Board came together to review past achievements, reflect on members’ feedback from 2025, and establish a clear roadmap for the year ahead.
Building on its mission to strengthen and connect the German Vietnamese business community, the GBA will focus on further enhancing the quality and effectiveness of its services and flagship events, expanding its geographical footprint, and advancing structured, high-impact government engagement for members.
The Board defined the following key priorities for 2026:
- Strengthening Strategic Government Engagement
GBA will further deepen structured and high-level dialogue with government stakeholders to ensure member concerns are effectively represented, with government engagement guided by data from the Business Feedback Portal and delivering concrete value to the German business community in Vietnam.
- Showcase the success stories of German Vietnamese businesses through our new German Business Forum and Awards
A key milestone for 2026 will be the launch and positioning of the new German Business Forum as well as the GBA Business Awards. This initiative will highlight outstanding German Vietnamese business cooperation, promote innovation and impactful achievements, and reinforce Germany’s strong economic footprint in Vietnam.
- Expanding our presence in Northern and Central Vietnam
Through more consistent event programs, stronger institutional partnerships, and targeted industry dialogues, GBA will deepen the engagement in North and Central Vietnam,
This expansion will be reinforced by the appointment of dedicated renown and active GBA Representatives in Hai Phong and Ha Noi, strengthening the Association’s local presence and enabling closer, more responsive support for members in these key economic hubs:
- GBA Representative in Hai Phong: Ms. Trang Pham, Senior Manager, Industrial Business Development at Core5 Vietnam
- GBA Representative in Ha Noi: Mr. Lutz Koch, Head of Hanoi Office, Rödl Vietnam
These efforts will ensure that members nationwide benefit equally from the Association’s services, government initiatives, and high-quality networking platforms.
- Elevating Oktoberfest HCMC
In 2026, the Oktoberfest will be held at a new location, upgrading the overall format of the event to expand participation, enhance guest experience, and strengthen sponsor involvement.
This step reflects GBA’s ambition to continuously upgrade its signature event formats and maintain its leading position among international business associations in Vietnam.
With a clear strategic direction and a continued focus on operational excellence, GBA is well-positioned to deliver high-quality, relevant, and engaging experiences for its members, expand its footprint nationwide, and advocate effectively for a strong and sustainable business environment.
