Philip Baumann | Co-Founder of Mac Engineers Vietnam
Mr. Philip Baumann’s journey in Vietnam began in October 2011 when he was appointed by a German family-owned company to open their first office in Ho Chi Minh City. As a member of the German Business Association, he actively participated in events and developed a strong connection with the community. After four years of intense development work for his employer, Philip was given the opportunity to open a new branch in South America, spending 2.5 years in Paraguay and Argentina. Eager to return to Vietnam, he rejoined the GBA, serving the board for three years before joining the Disciplinary Committee.
During his time on the Board (Jan 2019 – Jan 2022), Philip served as Treasurer for two years, overseeing finances, coordinating budgets and working closely with the Back Office Team. As part of the event team, he helped organizing major social events, including Oktoberfest in both Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. He also took care of HR in relation to the Back Office Team.
Philip’s dedication to the GBA arose from his passion to share his expertise and leadership skills to support the German community in Vietnam and those looking to be a part of it. His contributions have made a significant impact and he is looking forward to continuing to support and contribute to the GBA’s work also in future.
