HCMC, 11 October 2022 – The ‘Members for Members’ workshop co-hosted by GBA and the Lufthansa Group attracted 30 members from various industries at a lively farm-garden concept corner at Pizza 4P’s Hai Ba Trung and our honor to welcome the Consul General of Switzerland in Ho Chi Minh City H.E. Werner Bardill and his spouse to join us for this green topic discussion.
The 2-hour workshop focusing on the ‘Sustainability & Green Aviation’’ pointed out a fact that the aviation is one of the fastest-growing sources of greenhouse gas emissions. Air transport connects people, countries and cultures around the world. Its economic importance is enormous, it drives employment and it ensures the fast and reliable flow of goods. At the same time, it has undesirable effects on climate and the environment. While human produced 43 bil tonnes of CO2, air transportation contributes approx. 3% to global CO2 emissions because they still use fossil fuel instead of renewables energy for flight activities.
That urges The Lufthansa Group on actively taking its responsibility for effective climate protection seriously – with a clearly defined path toward CO2 neutrality by 2050.
