On January 10, Mr. Peter Kompalla, Chief Representative of AHK Vietnam and Mrs. Le Quynh Anh, Executive Director of GBA, had the honor of welcoming a delegation from Long An Province to Ho Chi Minh City. The delegation, led by Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Secretary and Chairman of Long An People’s Committee, also included Mr. Huynh Van Son, Vice Chairman of the Long An People’s Committee, Mr. Le Hoang Thanh, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Tran Van Tuoi, Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Investment, and representatives from Industrial Parks in the region.
The focus of the meeting was on the development of two new industrial parks in Long An, designed specifically to attract German investment. Mr. Duoc emphasized the significant potential of the province’s resources and labor force, and the importance of fostering stronger business ties between Germany and Vietnam. This ambitious project aims to create an environment conducive to German companies investing in Long An while collaborating with local businesses and government departments.
A site visit is planned to further explore the project and gain the necessary support from the central government and political leaders. The goal is to finalize agreements potentially during a state visit to Germany, reinforcing long-term business cooperation between both nations. We are excited about the future of this initiative and the opportunities it will bring for German-Vietnamese partnerships in the region.
