GBA Monthly Business Meeting: Investment Trends and China+1
Ho Chi Minh City, 5 June 2023 – The GBA Monthly Business Meeting in June took place successfully at Lotte Hotel Saigon with 90 participants in person and virtually. Mr. Marko Walde, Chief Representative of AHK Vietnam/ GBA Vice-Chairman chaired the meeting together with three keynote speakers: Mr. Björn Koslowski – Deputy Chief Representative/ Head of Market Entry Services of AHK Vietnam, Mr. Cuong Tran – General Manager of IGB Automotive Vietnam and Mr. Hong Han Thanh – General Director of Pepperl+Fuchs Vietnam
The whole session was covered with a holistic sketch about the investment trends in light of China+1 strategy and the best practice of extension investment in Vietnam. The country’s investment landscape has become a magnet for German companies and the China +1 strategy, with impressive numbers reflecting their growing interest. Due to the prevailing global uncertainty, numerous German companies are compelled to diversify their supply chains and their production facilities to ensure sustainable development. The insightful presentations from our keynote speakers provided new perspectives that generated thought-provoking and lively discussions among our participants.
During the meeting, the GBA Board, Office team and members also presented an occasion to bid farewell to GBA Board member Mr. Lukas Schoeneck, CEO of thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions Vietnam. Our appreciation for his excellent contribution and strong support to the community from 2021 to 2023. We would also thank our keynote speakers and all participants for making the meeting in June a success.
