On Monday evening, 05 April 2021, the German Business Association organized the April edition of the GBA Monthly Business Meeting.
The meeting was prepared and hosted by our GBA board members: Mr. Horst Geicke (Chairman, Deutsches Haus Ho Chi Minh City) and Mr. Martin Koerner (Commercial Director, Alma Resort). Both of them are also members of the EuroCham Executive Committee and therefore have chosen the topic “Opportunities and Challenges of the EVFTA”.
In 4 keynote speeches, various aspects and thoughts on the current situation as well as future aspirations were addressed and later discussed from different perspectives in a panel discussion, moderated by GBA Vice-Chairman Mr. Marko Walde.

Mr. Weert Boerner, Deputy Head of Mission and Head of the Economic Section from the German Embassy in Vietnam on the German government’s perspective on the EVFTA implementation
Ms. Almut Roessner, Executive Board Member of the German Asia-Pacific Association (remotely from Hamburg) on the EVFTA in the context of Asia-Pacific from a German business perspective
Dr. Carsten Schittek, Minister Counselor and Head of Trade at the EU Delegation to Vietnam on the EVFTA implementation: Opportunities & Challenges
85 participants joined the event at the Deutsches Haus Ho Chi Minh City. Amongst them, we especially would like to thank Mr. Vincent Floreani, Consul General of France and Mr. Karel Richter, Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands for their participation.
