A chance for young talents ready to make a difference – that was the aim when the members of the German Business Association decided to start the “GBA Business Challenge”. Among the board and interested, active members of the GBA a working group formed and set up a nation-wide contest, to look for Business Ideas that would not only be promising in an economical aspect but ideally solve an issue for the better.
After weeks of diligent screening, the working group, consisting of further Mr. Stefan Hase-Bergen, Prof. Andreas Stoffers, Ms. Emilie Braun-Cruickshank, Mr. Nam Hoang, Mr. Herbert Gonder and Mr. Holger Benthien, selected the five best ideas that matched with the following criteria:
- Feasible and realistic
- Not yet on the market
- Can be realized within 1 year
- Delivers a value for the society
- Advantageous environmental impacts
- Advantageous social impacts
Over 30 interesting business ideas from all over the country have been submitted after the challenge was opened and the working group around GBA board member and president of the Vietnamese-German University Prof. Fr. Tomas Benz selected the most promising. “We intentionally limited the competition to ideas that were not yet established, to especially also give applicants a chance, that might have a game-changing idea, but not the financial or formal resources to turn it into reality. Therefore the best candidates received a training by the VGU to refine their Business Plan and have a chance to pursue the idea.”
On Monday, 7 December the five teams will present their ideas to an exquisite business audience – they will pitch at the GBA Monthly Business Meeting at Park Hyatt Saigon.
The three winning teams will receive an amount of money (1. Place, 160 mill VND, 2. Place 80 mill VND, 3. Place 40 mill VND) to get immediately started with the realization of their Business Idea. Additionally, the chances to evoke interest and find a partner among the high-level Business audience is high.
