Foreign representative agencies got first experience of Metro Line No. 1 Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien

On the morning of April 26, 200 representatives from Consulate Generals, international organizations, economic and cultural institutions, Foreign Business Associations in Ho Chi Minh City including Dr. Josefine Wallat – German Consul General and Minh Nguyen – Vice Chairwoman of GBA and Quynh Anh Le – Executive Director of GBA had their first experience on the Metro Line No.1 from Ben Thanh District 1 to Suoi Tien Theme Park in Thu Duc City. This visit was in commemoration of the 49th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – 2024) and the 138th anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1, 1886 – 2024).

During the event, Deputy Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Bui Xuan Cuong expressed the city leaders’ interest in listening to opinions and comments from diplomats and international businessmen to improve passenger services.

The Metro Line 1, spanning from Ben Thanh Market in District 1 and Suoi Tien Theme Park in District 9, has a total length of 19.7 km and includes 14 stations with 11 elevated stations consisting of Van Thanh Park, Tan Cang, Thao Dien, An Phu, Rach Chiec, Phuoc Long, Binh Thai, Thu Duc, High tech Park, Vietnam National University and Suoi Tien Tourist Area and along with 3 underground stations including Ben Thanh, Ba Son, and City Opera House. Participants of the first full-line trial enjoyed the smooth operation of the train and the scenic views along the route.

Minh Nguyen, the GBA Vice Chairwoman expressed her excitement after taking the metro route through the city for the first time. She was amazed by how smoothly she was able to travel from one part of the city to another, thanks to Metro Line No.1. It was a convenient and enjoyable experience, and she looks forward to its early commencement to serve both the residents and foreign visitors to the city.
