  1. Can I join the GBA if I am an individual professional and not representing a company?

Absolutely! While GBA primarily welcomes members who represent companies, we also extend our invitation to individual professionals, especially those of German origin seeking valuable networking opportunities. Whether you’re a freelancer, consultant or retired, you’ll find ample opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals and access valuable resources.

  1. Can a non-German owned company join GBA membership?

Absolutely! GBA welcomes companies from around the world, including local enterprises, fostering connections and collaborations between German and international businesses. Joining GBA provides a platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and mutually beneficial partnerships. Whether your company is German-owned, locally operated, or internationally focused, you’ll find ample opportunities to engage with our diverse community.

  1. Does GBA issue VAT invoices for membership fee payments?

Unfortunately, as a foreign business association and non-governmental organization, GBA cannot issue VAT invoices for membership fee payments. Instead, we provide an internal receipt acknowledged by our organization. It’s important to note that membership fees paid to foreign business associations, including GBA, are deemed tax-deductible. Both personal income tax and corporate income tax for a company member may benefit from this deduction.

For your convenience, we have herewith the official response from the HCMC Tax Department to EuroCham and other foreign business associations. Please refer to this document when communicating with your accounting department. If you have any further questions or require additional assistance, feel free to contact us directly.

  1. Can I transfer my GBA membership to another colleague within my company?

Yes, you can transfer your GBA membership to another colleague within your company! Simply provide our Membership Manager with an email update or confirmation indicating the transfer of your membership to your colleague. Ms. Mai will then reach out to you for any further details or information needed to process the transfer smoothly.
