Seminar: Risk Mitigation and Cross-border Dispute Resolution options – Vietnam and Singapore
In today’s borderless world, international joint ventures and public-private partnerships are the economic engines of the major growth regions of the globe. However, the devil is in the details, particularly when cross-border disputes arise.
Join us for a discussion of risk mitigation and dispute resolution strategies with a focus on Vietnam. Our attorneys from Singapore, (Eduardo Ramos-Gomez, Priyank Srivastava, and Daniel Soo) and Vietnam (Dr. Lang Nguyen and Dr. Oliver Massmann) will discuss the complications and challenges of cross-border disputes in the region, with an emphasis on minimizing risk, maximizing legal certainty and ensuring onshore and offshore enforcement and bankability.
Topics include:
> Understanding the critical causes of disputes in public-private partnership projects
> Managing the risks and challenges that threaten investment in cross-border projects
> How the Investor-State Dispute Settlement (ISDS) system works to minimize foreign investor risk
> Overview of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) and the issues it presents
> Strategic considerations for the choice of dispute resolution method, forum and law
Date: Wednesday, 14 September 2022
