17:05 – 17:45: Exclusive Deutsches Haus Construction-Site Tour
Deutsches Haus Ho Chi Minh Stadt gives prior to the GBA Business Meeting at Intercontinental Asiana Saigon Hotel all participants of the GBA meeting and interested members the opportunity for an exclusive tour on the construction-site at Le Duan 33 to have a first-hand look about the construction-progress for the premium office building and lighthouse-project of the Federal Republic of Germany for Vietnam and ASEAN.
Due to the security reasons, it is requested that the participants register for this construction-site tour latest on Thursday, 31 March.

1.    Official introduction of His Excellency German Ambassador, Mr. Berger
The new German Ambassador, Mr. Berger likes to take the opportunity to introduce himself to the business community with this visit, give a presentation on his background, his impressions on Vietnam, his expectations and in how far we can cooperate more closely with the Embassy in future.
 
2.    Work Permits – relevance of the current changes in the laws for Expats in Vietnam
Mr. Stefan Ewers, Attorney-at-Law (Germany), LL.M., and Associate Partner, Rödl & Partner Vietnam Legal Ltd.
Stefan is heading the office of Rödl & Partner in Vietnam. Rödl & Partner is a German based professional services firm and has been providing services to German Investors in Vietnam since 2007. Stefan’s team of local and international lawyers, tax consultants and CPA’s provide a comprehensive one-stop-service for projects in Vietnam for legal, tax and accounting. He is a German and Australian qualified lawyer and has been practicing in Vietnam and the region for many years. Stefan’s main work focus is corporate structuring and tax advise. He will introduce the GBA to a current hot topic of the amended regulation on work permits for expatriates in Vietnam that come into force on 1 April.
 
3.    After the storm – Risk assets staged a strong rally in the last month, but remain vulnerable, while the global outlook better than feared, growth still set to fall to the slowest pace post-crisis.
Ms. Juliana Lee, Senior Economist, Deutsche Bank Research
Juliana Lee is a senior member of DB Asia Economics team, ranked number 2 in the industry by Institutional Investor polls in 2013.  She is currently in charge of analysis and forecasting of Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam, plus regional studies that cover the Greater Mekong Subregion, and has years of experience in covering Malaysia and Thailand.
