Congratulations to Messer Vietnam on its Latest Investment Milestone

The German Business Association (GBA) extends our sincere congratulations to our Corporate Partner, Messer Vietnam, on the announcement of its US$37 million investment in a new industrial gas production facility in Ho Chi Minh City. This significant project marks another milestone in strengthening German investment in Vietnam and reflects Messer’s long-term confidence in one of its fastest-growing markets.

The new facility, with an annual production capacity of 200,000 tonnes, is expected to begin supplying the market before the end of 2028, following an estimated 18-month construction period. The plant will produce industrial gases including nitrogen, oxygen and argon, while incorporating innovative technology that utilizes cold energy from the LNG regasification process to reduce electricity consumption by approximately 50% compared to conventional production methods. This advanced approach will significantly improve energy efficiency, reduce carbon emissions, and help meet Vietnam’s growing demand for industrial gases.

Beyond this investment, Messer is also contributing to the development of Vietnam’s emerging green hydrogen ecosystem. Drawing on more than 120 years of expertise in hydrogen technologies, the company is developing rooftop solar-powered green hydrogen solutions for industrial customers. In collaboration with GIZ, Messer will support training programmes, knowledge sharing, and market development initiatives to help accelerate Vietnam’s green hydrogen ecosystem and contribute to the country’s sustainable industrial development and net-zero ambitions.

As a valued GBA Corporate Partner, Messer continues to exemplify the strength of German engineering, innovation, and commitment to sustainable investment in Vietnam. We look forward to witnessing the positive impact of this project and to continuing our collaboration in fostering stronger German–Vietnamese economic relations.
