How to Become a Member of GBA in Vietnam
We hope the range of benefits and activities have given you some appetite for GBA membership already!
Step 1: Application
Choose your membership type, complete the form, and provide your business license, company intro, and interests.
Step 2: Approval
The GBA Board reviews your membership application for approval.
Step 3: Payment
Once your application is approved, you receive an invoice for your membership fee.
Step 4: Activation
After payment, your membership is activated and the GBA office team provides access to benefits, events, and other resources.
GBA Membership Types
Large Enterprise
Ordinary Corporate Member (OC)

Size of company: Company fulfills 1 or more of the following conditions:
- Has more than 500 employees in Vietnam; or
- More than 1,000 employees globally; or
- Has operations in more than 5 countries.
Type of company:
Companies with a legal presence in Vietnam in a form permitted by the laws of Vietnam that are:
- Companies established under German laws, or:
- Majority-owned subsidiaries of such companies, or:
- Companies with substantial ties to Germany.
Notice:
- Only 1 Nominated Representative per Ordinary Corporate Membership is entitled to voting rights.
- A Large enterprise (LE) Corporate member is entitled to nominate 4 Representatives who will receive Membership Cards.
- Representative offices are judged by their mother company structure and not by their own size in Vietnam.

Small & Medium Enterprise
Ordinary Corporate Member (OC)

Size of company: Only applicable if none of the Large Enterprise classifications are met.
Type of company:
Company with a legal presence in Vietnam in a form permitted by the laws of Vietnam and:
- Company established under German laws, or:
- Majority-owned subsidiaries of such company, or:

- Only 1 Nominated Representative per Ordinary Corporate Membership is entitled to voting rights.

Mini-Membership Option – Tailored for Startups and Very Small Businesses
In addition to our Large Enterprise (LE) and Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) memberships, the GBA offers a specialized Mini-Membership designed exclusively for:
- New German companies setting up in Vietnam — very small businesses with limited operations and no intention for expansion.
Notice:
- This option does not apply to startups established abroad that are expanding into Vietnam.
- The Mini-Membership is offered as a trial-level membership for a maximum duration of two (2) years

Individuals who can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the GBA Board that they meet the following criteria:
- Substantial ties to Germany, and/or
- Actively involved in business, trade, investment and/or other permitted activities in Vietnam, and
- Not members of an organization which could become a Corporate Member, and
- Ordinarily resident in Vietnam/ Not ordinarily resident in Vietnam.
