On 24 October 2015, Deutsches Haus Ho Chi Minh Stadt celebrated the official groundbreaking and cornerstone laying ceremony on the construction site of Deutsches Haus Ho Chi Minh Stadt.
The event took place at the construction site of Deutsches Haus at 33 Le Duan Street in Ho Chi Minh City. More than 250 guests from the German, European, and Vietnamese business community in Vietnam, representatives from the Vietnamese and German governments and members of the Diplomatic Corps attended the event.
The ceremony was witnessed by the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, H E Mr Vu Huy Hoang, H E Ambassador Mr Nguyen Vu Tu, Director General of the Department of Foreign Affairs in Ho Chi Minh City, representing the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Mr Hans-Jörg Brunner, Charge d’ Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Vietnam and Dr Hans-Dieter Stell, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ho Chi Minh City, as well as the investors of Deutsches Haus Ho Chi Minh Stadt, Mr Bernd Dietel, Mr Horst Geicke, and Mr Horst Pudwill.
The construction of the Deutsches Haus in Ho Chi Minh City has been well under way since November 2014. Currently a 4-level basement is in its final construction-stage, offering 13764 sqm for parking, while the construction for the superstructure of the building starts soon. Completion of construction and development of the building is expected to be on 1st of August 2017.
Deutsches Haus will be a pioneering premium grade office tower strategically located on the corner of Le Duan Street and Le Van Huu Street in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City. The 25-storey building consists of approximately 40,000 square meters GFA of prime office real estate including retail areas, a multifunctional exhibition-, event -and conference-area, the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ho Chi Minh City, restaurant-areas with outdoor terrace and apartments and penthouses.

Consequently, Deutsches Haus aims to be the premier green office building in Ho Chi Minh City, aiming for the LEED Gold certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and DGNB certification, the German equivalent.
Already today, the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy in Germany has awarded Deutsches Haus in Ho Chi Minh City as the only building worldwide, the distinction “Energy Efficiency – Made in Germany".
Further on Deutsches Haus Ho Chi Minh Stadt has been awarded the prestigious “Vietnam Property Award 2015” with two awards for the Best Office Development and the Best Green Development in Vietnam”.
