German cable and connectivity technology specialist LAPP Group has officially launched LAPP Vietnam, marking a new milestone in the company’s long-term presence in one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing manufacturing and technology markets.
The launch follows LAPP’s full acquisition of JJ-LAPP in 2025 and the consolidation of its Southeast Asian operations under the single LAPP brand. Building on more than 20 years of JJ-LAPP’s local market experience, the company aims to combine German engineering expertise and innovation with a strong regional network to better serve customers in Vietnam and across Southeast Asia.
Key takeaways from the launch and LAPP’s regional strategy:
- Strategic positioning: LAPP sees Vietnam as a key development and business hub in Southeast Asia, supporting both local and regional customers.
- High-growth sectors: The company is strengthening its capabilities to meet growing demand for connectivity solutions across industrial automation, electronics, renewable energy, AI data centers and smart infrastructure.
- German expertise, local experience: LAPP combines its German engineering quality and innovation with the market knowledge and network developed by JJ-LAPP over more than 20 years. Around 350 former JJ-LAPP employees have joined LAPP’s global workforce of more than 5,700 employees.
- Stronger customer support: According to Richard Lee, President and CEO of LAPP Asia Pacific, the integration provides customers in Vietnam with more direct access to LAPP’s global supply chain, faster response times and specialized technical support from regional engineering teams.
Within its broader Southeast Asian strategy, LAPP currently operates its regional manufacturing facility in Indonesia, while Vietnam is positioned as an important market for the Group’s continued growth and expansion.
GBA congratulates our member LAPP Vietnam on this important milestone and looks forward to its continued growth and contribution to Vietnam’s industrial development.
