Florian Weisshuhn | Engineering Director of DRÄXLMAIER Automotive Vietnam

Mr. Florian Weisshuhn is the Engineering Director of DRAEXLMAIER Automotive Vietnam.

Founded in 2020, DRAEXLMAIER Automotive Vietnam has been continuously expanding and is expected to exceed 1,000 employees by 2026, with a manufacturing facility in Tam Ky and an Engineering Center in Da Nang. The DRAEXLMAIER Group, employing more than 65,000 people worldwide, is among the top 100 automotive suppliers globally.

Over the past decade, Mr. Weisshuhn has been an integral part of the DRAEXLMAIER Group, contributing to its growth and success by establishing and expanding engineering departments around the world. His journey within the company has included several key positions, including Senior Manager Projects Management and TPM China, Director Technical Product Management Worldwide, Director Engineering Hub Tunisia, and Director Engineering Vietnam based in the Da Nang office.

Mr. Weisshuhn studied Electrical Engineering and Business Administration at the Technical University of Braunschweig. He began his career in the automotive industry in Wolfsburg and served as a manager at an engineering supplier for Volkswagen. After joining DRAEXLMAIER, he started as Head of Projects Management. In 2018, he took on his first assignment in Asia, where he successfully established and expanded a Technical Product Management department in China. Since 2019, he has been responsible for several development sites around the globe and has overseen a division of approximately 800 engineers.

As a seasoned leader, he is passionate about empowering intercultural teams, identifying young talent, and supporting their development into leadership roles. In Vietnam, he has leveraged his extensive expertise to build the local Engineering Center from a greenfield operation into a team of more than 100 engineers within five years.

Through his involvement with the GBA, his primary objective is to strengthen the network of German and European companies in Central Vietnam and share his experience in establishing and developing businesses in the Da Nang region.
