New GBA Representative for Central Vietnam – Welcome Mr. Florian Weisshuhn

We are pleased to announce that Mr. Florian Weisshuhn, Engineering Director of DRÄXLMAIER Automotive Vietnam, has officially assumed the role of GBA Representative for Central Vietnam, effective 22 June 2026, succeeding Mr. David Will.

On behalf of the GBA Board of Directors, we would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Mr. David Will for his dedicated service over the past year. During his tenure, David demonstrated a strong commitment and made valuable contributions to strengthening the German business community in Central Vietnam.

Mr. Weisshuhn brings with him extensive international experience in the automotive industry and engineering management. He currently serves as Engineering Director of DRÄXLMAIER Automotive Vietnam, which was established in 2020 and has rapidly expanded its presence with a manufacturing facility in Tam Ky and an Engineering Center in Da Nang. By 2026, the company is expected to employ more than 1,000 people in Vietnam. The DRÄXLMAIER Group is among the world’s top 100 automotive suppliers, employing over 65,000 people globally.

Over the past decade, Mr. Weisshuhn has held several leadership positions within the DRÄXLMAIER Group, including Senior Manager, Projects Management and TPM China, Director Technical Product Management Worldwide, Director Engineering Hub Tunisia, and Director Engineering Vietnam. He has successfully established and expanded engineering operations across multiple regions and has overseen teams of up to 800 engineers worldwide.

Mr. Weisshuhn holds degrees in Electrical Engineering and Business Administration from the Technical University of Braunschweig. He began his career in the automotive industry in Wolfsburg before joining DRÄXLMAIER as Head of Project Management. Since relocating to Vietnam, he has played a key role in developing the company’s Engineering Center in Da Nang from a greenfield project into a team of more than 100 engineers within five years.

Passionate about developing young talent and fostering intercultural collaboration, Mr. Weisshuhn aims to strengthen further the network of German and European companies in Central Vietnam and support the region’s growing business ecosystem through knowledge sharing and closer cooperation.
