[Recap] GBA Workshop: Designing The Future Workplace: Where Wellness, Productivity & Business Performance Converge

As workplace expectations continue to evolve, nearly 60 business leaders, HR professionals, workplace strategists, architects, and corporate decision-makers gathered for the workshop “Designing the Future Workplace: Where Wellness, Productivity & Business Performance Converge,” co-hosted by the German Business Association (GBA) and the Australian Chamber of Commerce Vietnam (AusCham Vietnam).

Organized in collaboration with Han Spaces, Hettich, Bayer, and The Sentry, the workshop explored a critical question facing businesses today: How can organizations create workplaces that enhance employee well-being while driving productivity, innovation, and long-term business success?

The discussion featured valuable insights from Alexander Ziehe, Vice President Southeast Asia at Hettich; Giang Pham, Head of Communications at Bayer Vietnam; and Tommy Tran, President of Han Spaces, and was moderated by Thuy Hoang, COO & Co-pioneer of The Sentry. Together, they shared perspectives on how workplace design, company culture, and technology are increasingly interconnected in shaping the future of work.

Key takeaways from the session:
• Workplace design is no longer just about aesthetics, it is a strategic investment in productivity, talent attraction, and employee engagement.
• Employee wellness should be embedded into workplace culture and daily experiences, not treated as a standalone initiative.
• Small design and engineering decisions can have a significant impact on how people collaborate, focus, and perform.
• In the age of AI and rapid transformation, the future workplace must balance technology, flexibility, and human-centered experiences.

The event concluded with practical takeaways for business leaders, encouraging organizations to view workplace design not merely as an infrastructure decision, but as a strategic tool for strengthening culture, supporting people, and improving business performance.

The engaging discussion and active participation from attendees reflected the growing interest among businesses in creating workplaces that enable both people and organizations to thrive in an increasingly competitive and fast-changing world.

Thank you to all participants for contributing to an engaging discussion on how organizations can build workplaces that enable both people and businesses to thrive.
