[Recap] GBA Attends Ho Chi Minh City 2025 New Year Reception

HCMC, February 9, Representing the German Business Association (GBA), Mr. Maximilian Rummert, Treasurer of GBA attended the 2025 New Year Reception hosted by the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee.

The event brought together senior city leaders and members of the diplomatic corps, including Christopher Scholl, Deputy Consul General of Germany in Ho Chi Minh City, Consuls General of various countries, representatives of foreign business associations, and outstanding enterprises operating in the city.

At the reception, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, highlighted that despite global uncertainties, Ho Chi Minh City has continued to maintain economic stability, strengthen international integration, and enhance its position as a dynamic growth engine of Vietnam. He emphasized that 2025 marked an important milestone as the city entered a new phase of development with expanded development space and stronger foundations for sustainable growth. Looking ahead, the Chairman reaffirmed the city’s commitment to high-quality investment, innovation, digital and green transformation, and called for continued close cooperation with diplomatic missions, foreign business associations, and international partners. He underlined that the success of international partners is integral to the city’s own prosperity, and reiterated Ho Chi Minh City’s commitment to maintaining an open, transparent, and business-friendly environment.

On behalf of the GBA Board and its members, Mr. Maximilian Rummert extended New Year wishes to Mr. Tran Luu Quang, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Chairman Nguyen Van Duoc, and the Vietnamese Government. He reaffirmed GBA’s strong commitment to working closely with Vietnamese authorities and partners, supporting Ho Chi Minh City’s development agenda, and further strengthening Germany–Vietnam economic relations.
