[Recap] GBA Member for Member Workshop: Visa Essentials & Practical Guidance from Experts

On 25 November, GBA welcomed nearly 40 participants to our GBA Member for Member Workshop, co-hosted with the German Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City.

The session provided a comprehensive and practical overview of both Schengen and National Visa procedures – supporting members who work closely with international mobility, labor export, student placement, and corporate travel.

Our sincere appreciation goes to Mr. Jakob Lokau, Vice Consul & Head of Visa Section and Mr. Oliver Viertel, Consular Attaché, for delivering clear explanations, sharing case-based insights, and engaging in an open Q&A where participants raised specific scenarios directly with the Visa Section.

🔍 Key Takeaways from the Workshop:

  • Updated guidelines for Schengen Visa applications, including purpose-specific requirements for business travel.
  • Clarification of National Visa categories, especially for work, study, and long-term residence permits.
  • Practical tips on preparing complete documentation to avoid delays and ensure smoother processing.
  • Direct guidance from visa officials during an active and informative Q&A session.

Thank you to all participants for your active engagement and thoughtful questions. We look forward to welcoming you again at our upcoming GBA Member for Member events!
