[RECAP] GBA JOINS EUROPE DAY RECEPTION 2025

HCMC, May 16, 2025 – The German Business Association (GBA) was htonored to participae in the Europe Day Reception 2025, a prestigious event celebrating 75 years of the European Union and 35 years of diplomatic relations between the EU and Vietnam.

This high-level reception brought together ambassadors, government leaders, and representatives from the international business community, highlighting the strength of EU–Vietnam relations and the shared commitment to peace, prosperity, and cooperation.

The evening brought together distinguished guests from diplomatic missions, government agencies, and the international business community. Representing the German Business Association (GBA), the delegation included Martin Koerner – Vice Chairman, Minh Nguyen – Vice Chairwoman, Max Rummert– Board Member, Erick Contreras -Board Members and Alexander Götz – EuroCham Treasurer.

The GBA delegation had the pleasure of joining H.E. Julien Guerrier, Ambassador of the European Union to Vietnam, and Mr. Vo Van Hoan, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, for this meaningful celebration.

In his remark, the Ambassador Julien Guerrier highlighted, in today’s complex and fast-changing world, international cooperation is more essential than ever, and with 2025 marking 35 years of diplomatic ties, the EU remains committed to deepening its trusted partnership with Vietnam by advancing green transition, innovation, security cooperation, and deeper economic integration.

Mr. Vo Van Hoan, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee expressed his hope that the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam, including Ho Chi Minh City, and the EU will continue to flourish in pursuit of peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and the world.

The evening also featured vibrant networking and inspiring conversations. Beyond commemorating milestones, this reception was a powerful reminder of the shared future we are working towards — one that is collaborative, forward-looking, and built on mutual respect and strategic vision.
