On March 14, the GBA Members for Members Workshop, titled “Tax Breakfast Briefing: Your Tax Duties in 2025 – A General Tax Guide for FDI Companies”, brought together 40 high-level executives and business leaders in Ho Chi Minh City. Co-hosted by Luther Vietnam, the event focused on the latest tax regulations and provided practical guidance on navigating Vietnam’s evolving tax landscape.
Throughout the session, attendees gained practical insights into:
- Vietnam’s tax landscape in 2025 – Key updates and compliance requirements
- Tax obligations for FDI companies – How to stay compliant and minimise risks
- Best practices for tax efficiency – Strategies to optimise tax planning
- Navigating tax audits and inspections – Proactive approaches to prepare for scrutiny
🔑 A focus of this event was to showcase key tax compliance requirements for the year ahead and instruct participants how to adequately prepare for impending tax audits. Vietnam is gearing up to implement and enforce more stringent standards in the realm of taxation and accounting. Vietnamese taxation authorities thus stand at the forefront of this orchestrated push for compliance under the guidance of the Vietnamese central government. Especially FDI companies and cash-heavy businesses (like hospitality, F&B or retail operations) may expect stricter tax scrutiny in 2025 and beyond.
📊It also highlighted prevailing compliance risks, tax audit trends, and best practices for optimising tax efficiency while mitigating risks. With Vietnamese tax authorities ramping up enforcement, businesses must proactively prepare for tax audits, maintain accurate documentation, and leverage available tax incentives to stay compliant.
