In celebration of 50 years of Vietnam-Germany diplomatic relations (50VietDuc) and the 30th anniversary of the German Business Association (GBA), we hosted an engaging workshop on February 21 in Hanoi. The event, titled “Insights into the Internationalization of BVB – Featuring Soccer Legend Patrick Owomoyela”, brought together 25 participants, including GBA Chairman Mr. Alexander Ziehe, Vice-Chairman Mr. Torben Minko, and Board Member Mr. Björn Koslowski. Keynote speakers included Mr. Benjamin Wahl, Managing Director East Asia at Borussia Dortmund, and German soccer legend Mr. Patrick Owomoyela.
The workshop emphasized how football connects people globally. Participants gained exclusive insights into Borussia Dortmund, a UEFA Top 10 professional football club, delving into its strategy, impact, challenges, and opportunities in the international arena. The session balanced the commercial aspects of football with the tradition, values, and roots of a working-class club. Attendees also explored the world of professional football through the unique perspective of soccer legend Mr. Patrick Owomoyela.
