On November 29, the GBA Members for Members Workshop “Green Hydrogen and PtX: Global Trends and Vietnam Market Potential” was successfully organized in Ho Chi Minh City. This workshop is part of the International Hydrogen Ramp Up Programme (H2Uppp), commissioned by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and co-hosted by GIZ Energy Support Programme, AHK Vietnam and GBA. The event was attended by 50 participants.
The session provided a unique opportunity for businesses to explore emerging topics in green hydrogen and Power-to-X (PtX), offering insights into global and local green hydrogen projects. Participants also had the chance to network with both German/EU and local companies, fostering potential collaborations, particularly through Public-Private Partnerships (PPP).
Key Takeaways:
- Green hydrogen and PtX plays a vital role in the global energy transition and net zero targets, especially in the hard-to- abate sectors.
- Vietnam has significant potential in green hydrogen development with numerous opportunities, but also challenges.
- Vietnam’s hydrogen market is still in its nascent stage. While government support is crucial, fostering a collaborative PPP model can fast-track green hydrogen development by supporting the project from the early stage.
The workshop concluded with a dynamic panel discussion, featuring highly engaged audience participation. This interactive session allowed attendees to delve deeper into the topics discussed and gain personalized insights.
