On November 21, Rödl & Partner Vietnam hosted the 2nd FDI Forum titled “Green Investment Strategies for FDI Success”, a hybrid event with 100 participants at the prestigious Deutsches Haus in Ho Chi Minh City and 40 online attendees from across Asia and Europe. The event was organized in partnership with Frasers Property Vietnam and UOB Vietnam, underscoring a shared commitment to advancing sustainable investment practices and fostering Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Vietnam.
The forum began with opening remarks from Mr. Michael Wekezer – Rödl & Partner’s Country Manager Vietnam who welcomed attendees and emphasized the importance of sustainability in driving Vietnam’s economic development. His remarks set the stage for an engaging and informative day.
We were privileged to have Dr. Josefine Wallat – German Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City and Mr. Bjorn Koslowski, Deputy Chief Representative of AHK Vietnam as our special guests. Their sharings provided profound insights into the critical roles of sustainability and green economic initiatives in shaping the future of FDI in Vietnam, offering attendees a deep dive into strategic environmental considerations.
The forum boasted a series of engaging discussions led by distinguished speakers, including Mr. Andrew McFadyen – Portfolio Manager – Asset Management of Frasers Property Vietnam, who explored “Investing in Vietnam: Growth, Supply Chains, and Sustainable Development”, emphasizing the importance of integrating sustainability into growth and supply chain strategies. A special session featured Ms. Hanh Pham – Head of Legal Services, Associate Partner, and Ms. Duong Tran – Tax Manager at Rödl & Partner Vietnam, who led a comprehensive discussion on “Navigating the Green Economy: Legal and Tax Strategies for FDI Success”. Their insights were instrumental in outlining the legal and financial frameworks necessary for successful green investments. Ms. Melissa Brandner – Vice President FDI Euro-Asia Group at UOB, addressed “ASEAN Growth Opportunities – Supporting FDI Success and the Green Transition”, highlighting the vast opportunities within ASEAN for fostering economic growth through sustainable practices.
An enriching panel discussion on “Green Supply Chains” moderated by Mr. Lutz Koch – Associate Partner and Head of Rödl & Partner’s Hanoi Office further enhanced the forum’s depth. Panelists included:

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the attendees, speakers, and panelists for their invaluable contributions. The depth of your engagement and the richness of the insights shared profoundly impact the ongoing success of our forums. As we look toward the 3rd FDI Forum in 2025, we anticipate building on these discussions to host an even larger and more impactful event.
