GBA Stands in Solidarity with Vietnam Amid Typhoon Yagi: Safety Advisory Issued

Dear Members and Friends,

The German Business Association (GBA) expresses its solidarity to the Vietnamese people, including GBA members in Northern Vietnam, in light of the devastating destruction caused by Typhoon Yagi. Our thoughts are with all those who lost family members and facing the huge impacts by damages.

There is currently a greatly increased risk of landslides and floods in northern Vietnam. This also affects the regions of Sapa, Lao Cai, Cao Bang, and Ha Giang. Travel to northern Vietnam is currently strongly discouraged.

Please monitor local news reports and, if relevant, stay in touch with your tour operator and/or airline. Follow the advice of the local authorities and your hotel, including any evacuation orders.

Actions to Take:

– Do not travel to the storm-affected areas.
– Monitor the local news for updates.
– Check your emergency kit to ensure you have needed medicines and other supplies, e.g., food and water.
– Seek secure shelter.
– Protect your important documents, including your passport.
– Keep your family at home informed about your safety and welfare.

Follow the German Embassy website for more updates.

Stay safe and take care!

Sincerely,

The GBA Board & Office Team
