On October 5th, 2023, the German Consulate General Ho Chi Minh City hosted a reception to celebrate the 33rd Anniversary of German Unity Day. The German Consul General, Dr. Josefine Wallat emphasized the importance of the German Unity Day as a symbol of peace, freedom, and democracy in Europe and beyond.
Representing the GBA, Co-Chairmen Mr. Elmar Dutt and Vice-Chairman Mr. Martin Koerner were among the attendees. They expressed their gratitude to the Consulate General for their commitment to facilitating and fostering the German-Vietnamese economic ties. They also highlighted the achievements and challenges of the GBA in promoting trade, investment, and social responsibility in Vietnam.
The Minister President of Lower Saxony, Mr. Stephan Weil, congratulated Vietnam on its remarkable economic and social development in recent years, and expressed his admiration for its resilience and success in combating the COVID-19 pandemic. He also reaffirmed Germany’s willingness to share its expertise and experience with Vietnam in various fields, such as renewable energy, digital transformation, and vocational training.
