GBA Monthly Business Meeting | Vietnam Insights: The Impact and Opportunities of Global Events on Key Industrial sectors
Ho Chi Minh City, 03 April 2023 – The GBA Monthly Business Meeting in April took place successfully at Sofitel Saigon Plaza with over 80 participants in person and virtually. Mr. Alexander Ziehe, GBA Board Member/ Managing Director Southeast Asia & Oceania at Viessmann Vietnam chaired the meeting together with the two keynote speakers: H.E. Dr. Guido Hildner, German Ambassador to Vietnam and Mr. Gabor Fluit, Chairman of EuroCham Vietnam.
The two speakers covered the whole session with key insights on the diversification of supply chains, political stability of the region and advocacy plans of the EuroCham and GBA. With these insights we support our members to gain clarity for their future development in Vietnam in an increasing complexity.
H.E. Dr. Hildner emphasized that Vietnam remains a key destination for foreign investments aiming for a diversified global footprint. He underlined the need for a further opening up and better reliability of the investment environment. Dr. Hildner also addressed the importance for further strengthening of climates protection policies.
Besides, Mr. Fluit stated the strong role of the chamber’s advocacy to improve the opportunities for European businesses in Vietnam. He expressed optimism for the upcoming year and outlined current advocacy impacts, e.g. around improving visa policies to boost the economy and investor confidence.
The insightful presentations from our keynote speakers provided new perspectives that generated thought-provoking and lively discussions among our participants.
