Hanoi, 07 June – At an ambassador’s reception at the German Residence, the German Business Association (GBA) celebrated two significant milestones: the 75th anniversary of the German Basic Law and the farewell to the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, H.E. Dr. Guido Hildner. The event was graced by the presence of GBA Chairman Mr. Alexander Ziehe, Vice-Chairman Mr. Torben Minko, Board member Mr. Dschung Nguyen, and our board member representing the AHK, Mr. Björn Koslowski.
This evening not only honored H.E. Hildner’s contributions to the Vietnamese-German relationship across various sectors but also highlighted the longstanding and close cooperation in the “Rechtsstaatsdialog”, the bilateral dialogue on the rule of law between the two nations.
Reflecting on the past five years, we have collaborated in various areas such as combating the COVID-19 pandemic, addressing climate change, and achieving significant milestones in the investment and economic robustness of Vietnam, vocational training, and skilled labor migration. H.E. Dr. Hildner also witnessed several high-level diplomatic visits, including those by German Chancellor Scholz in 2022 and German President Steinmeier in 2024, where the GBA represented our members’ interests.
On behalf of the GBA Board and the wider business community, GBA Chairman Mr. Ziehe extends his heartfelt gratitude for the open and strong cooperation with H.E. Dr. Hildner and the diplomatic corps. He underlines the importance of the partnership between the embassy and the GBA as we are set to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the 30th anniversary of the GBA in 2025. The GBA reaffirms its commitment to fostering the German-Vietnamese economic partnership and creating joint success stories.
