“Vietnam 2018 – Economic, Legal and HR-update and outlook”

1.    Vietnam Economic update and outlook 2018 with a focus on German-Vietnamese economic relations
Dr. Frauke Schmitz-Bauerdick, Director Vietnam, Germany Trade and Invest (GTAI)

The economic outlook will answer questions like:
How was 2017 for German Industry and Commerce in 2017?
Is the investment climate in Vietnam beclouded for German investors?
Is the diplomatic dissonance between Germany and Vietnam palpable/ expressible in figures? 
Will German investments catch up with other countries’ FDI’s in 2018?
What are the main drivers for German FDI’s/ what are the expected main trends in Vietnam important for German investors? Automotive? Consumer Goods? Engineering? Machine Building Industry?

2.    Vietnam legal update and outlook 2018 with a focus on VN labour law

The legal outlook will focus on questions like:
What are the main changes in the legal framework for employers and employees?
What are the implications of the new law on minimum wages?
What changes with the new law on social contribution for local employees?

The customs outlook will focus on questions like:
What have been the recent trends with regards to application of VN Customs Regulations?
What are the anticipated changes to VN Customs Regulations and formalities in 2018? What sectors or industries will be most affected?
What is in the VN Customs Plan for 2018? How will this impact businesses?
What should companies do to manage their exposure to customs liabilities and be compliant with VN Customs requirements?
