China in focus: China plus X – de-risking through diversification

On December 14, 2023, the GBA corporate partner SNB Law Partner Dr. Jörg-Michael Scheil will talk about utilizing a Vietnam investment in the context of “Corporate De-risking in China“ on an event of the IHK Oberfranken in Bayreuth. “De-risking” and diversification are not just core ideas of the federal government’s new China strategy. The Chinese side is also striving for greater self-sufficiency in its own supply chains as part of its “dual circulation” doctrine. German companies must orient themselves strategically in this environment and find their own, suitable approaches for their risk management.

In this event we would like to look at the topic from different perspectives and gain new insights into the extent to which complementary investments in the ASEAN countries in the sense of the so-called “China Plus One Strategy” can reduce the risk for German companies in the region leaves.
