SUMMARY:GBA Monthly Business Meeting: Investment Trends and China+1
DESCRIPTION:Vietnam's investment landscape has become a magnet for German companies and the China +1 strategy, with impressive numbers reflecting their growing interest. Over the past decade, German investments in Vietnam have witnessed a remarkable rise, reaching a cumulative value of over $2 billion. Prominent German companies have established a strong presence in Vietnam, capitalizing on its skilled workforce and expanding consumer market

Due to the prevailing global uncertainty, numerous German companies are compelled to diversify their supply chains and their production facilities to ensure sustainable development. The objective is to achieve long-term sustainability and safeguard the future of German companies on a global scale by enhancing diversification and resilience within the supply chain. Over the past three years, this concept has gained momentum. It is important to note that diversification does not imply a complete shift away from China, as German companies still recognize China as one of the most crucial markets. However, they are simultaneously establishing additional production plants in other countries or seeking out new suppliers in the region, especially in Vietnam, to mitigate risks and enhance their overall business resilience.
