Member Application Form
Membership in the German Business Association is available in 2 categories:
1.Ordinary Members are entitled to vote and to hold office, and can either be
Ordinary Corporate Members: any German-owned or any German-participated company or subsidiary, representative office, branch or sole proprietorship registered in Vietnam. A nominated representative exercises the vote.
Ordinary Individual Members: any German national of good repute conducting business, which is registered in Vietnam.
2.Associate Members are not entitled to vote and to hold office, and can either be:
Associate Corporate Members: a company or subsidiary, representative office, branch or sole proprietorship of good repute registered in Vietnam, that can demonstrate to the Board significant ties to Germany, and whose membership would, in the opinion of the Board, contribute to the objectives of the German Business Association.
Associate Individual Members: an individual of good repute conducting business which is registered in Vietnam, who can demonstrate to the Board significant ties to Germany, and whose membership would, in the opinion of the Board, contribute to the objectives of the German Business Association
Honorary Members
Individuals who have given outstanding services, or are deemed to be able to contribute significantly to the business community or the German Business Association may be invited by the Board to become Honorary Members of the German Business Association. The incumbent German Ambassador to Vietnam in Hanoi and the incumbent German General Consul in Ho Chi Minh City are Honorary Members. All Honorary Members shall be exempted from payment of annual subscription. They shall not have voting rights and shall not hold office
Membership subscription
Each member shall pay an annual subscription to be determined by the Board each year according to the membership category. Annual subscriptions are due in advance in July of each year. No refund of subscription will be given should a membership cease for any reason during the year. New members accepted after July of each year will pay a subscription proportional to the remaining quarters of the year.
Members not paying the annual subscription are liable to be expelled from the German Business Association after a notice period. Should a period of 3 months expire without payment, the membership will expire without further notice
Expulsion of Members
The Board shall have the power to expel a Member of the German Business Association if the Member’s conduct is in violation with the provisions of the Constitution, or is, in the opinion of the Board, detrimental to the interests of the German Business Association
