A CLASSICAL & ROMANTIC MUSIC SPACE AWAITS YOU THIS MARCH!

The Classical & Romantic periods are two that saw the birth of many legendary composers, when numerous everlasting masterpieces came to life. “Classical Romantics: The Legends” will be under the guidance of Conductor Hans Richter – great grandson of Maestro Hans Richter of the 19th century, and performed by Saigon Philharmonic Orchestra and Saigon Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. The concert will feature famous pieces by legendary composers of the two eras: Mozart, Wagner & Brahms.

PROGRAMME

- Lucio Silla Overture (Mozart) – the overture of the renowned Italian opera composed by Mozart at the age of only 16 but has left the audience stunned for its balance and maturity in artistic style.

- Siegfried Idyll (Wagner) – Wagner’s statement of love for his wife Cosima, a work of utmost delicacy and emotion.

- Symphony No.2 (Brahms) – Brahms’ Pastoral Symphony, composed in his summer holiday at the lovely town of Pörtschach, Austria.

ABOUT CONDUCTOR HANS RICHTER

Born in 1950 as a great-grandson of the famous Maestro Hans Richter, who has conducted numerous world premieres (for example Richard Wagner's "Ring" in Bayreuth, Brahms Symphony No. 2 and 3, Bruckner's Symphony No. 4 and 8).

After his high school graduation, he went on to study at the Musikhochschule and the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich. Richter was the guest conductor of many renowned European orchestras such as Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, NDR Symphony Orchestra in Hamburg, the Bamberger Sinfoniker, the Symphony Orchestra of the Chicago Lyric Opera, the Symphony Orchestra of the Vancouver Opera and many other well-known orchestral formations. He was also the guest conductor of the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra in Japan.

Hans Richter has won numerous prestigious awards, including 3rd prize of the International Hungarian Television Conducting Competition in Budapest, the Prize for Music of the City of Munich in 1980, and 1982 State Prize for Music of the Free State of Bavaria, to name a few.
